This type of drywall has a thicker coating of paper that is protected by wax and that is what makes it water-resistant. Greenboard drywall is typically used in areas where it could get damp. It should be known that the green board is not waterproof and should not be used in where areas it may get wet, so it will be ideal for a bathroom, but not a shower. Blueboard drywall
Another type of drywall that we offer to our new and existing clients is blueboard drywall. Blueboard drywall is another type of water-resistant drywall that is best used in bathrooms or a kitchen as it has a high water and mold resistance. Blueboard is bonded with a veneer plastic coating before it is painted and that is what makes blueboard drywall water-resistant. Blueboard drywall is much thicker and is a very absorbent type of drywall which makes it different from regular drywall. This is a highly recommended type of drywall for areas that may accumulate a lot of moisture on a day-to-day basis.
Paperless drywall
Paperless drywall is very similar to that of regular drywall; however, the difference is that paperless drywall makes use of fiberglass as an outer wrapping as opposed to paper. Paperless drywall was developed to combat mold that regular drywall developed over the years. Another difference between regular drywall and paperless drywall is that paperless drywall is water-resistant. Paperless drywall is not fully molding proof but is created to offer protection against any mold threats that may occur.
